ATP Tournaments Schedule 2022

Tennis is the world’s second most popular sport. More than 200 million people around the globe play tennis. This is one of the reasons why there are so many tennis players in the world.

On December 2021, The ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals) released the 53rd tennis schedule. The tour started with the Sydney Open on January 4th, which is a warm-up event for the Australian Open in March. The Australian Open is scheduled for January 20th to February 3rd.

Davis Cup (organized by the ITF), Wimbledon, the Next Gen ATP Finals, and Laver Cup, none of which distribute ranking points. There will be a total of 68 tournaments in 2022 including 4 Grand Slams.

ATP announced no tournament will be held in Russia and Belarus after the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The players from Russia and Belarus aren’t allowed to play under the names of their flags but would play as an individual due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

On 20 May 2022, the ATP announced that ranking points would not be awarded for Wimbledon, due to a decision by the All England Club which prohibits any player from Belarus or Russia from participating in the tournament.
