The Hall of Fame Open is a tennis tournament held annually for over forty years. It was first held at the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, Rhode Island.
The tournament is held every year in July. In 1976, the tournament was introduced on the Grand Prix tennis circuit. It was held at the International Tennis Hall of Fame until 1989.
Afterward, the tournament moved to the United States Tennis Association (USTA) National Indoor Circuit. In 1993, the tournament was relocated to a new venue, the Encompass Club in Boca Raton, Florida. It remained there until 2002.
Since 2002, the tournament has been played on outdoor grass courts in Newport. In 2011, it became part of the ATP World Tour.
The tournament is the last grass-court tournament of the season on the ATP tour and the only grass court tournament played outside Europe, as well as the only one played after Wimbledon. Until 2011, when John Isner won the tournament, the top seed had never triumphed at Newport, a trait that led to the nickname “the Casino Curse,” due to the location of the Hall of Fame at the Newport Casino.
This year event will start from the 10th of July to the 17th of July at Newport, Rhode Island USA. It consists of 28 Singles draw, 16 Qualifying and 16 doubles main draw. Tournament categorized in ATP 250 level.
