Austrian Open Kitzbuhel, also known as Generali Open, is one of the oldest European tennis tournaments. Austria has a huge history of this event. Austrian Open was founded in 1894 this event was categorized in different levels but from 2010 it is categorized as the ATP world tour 250 series.

In 2022, Roberto Bautista Agut defeated Filip Misolic in the final, 6–2, 6–2 to win the singles tennis title at the 2022 Generali Open Kitzbühel. Casper Ruud was the reigning champion, but withdrew before the tournament.
In 2022 doubles champion, Pedro Martínez and Lorenzo Sonego defeated Tim Pütz and Michael Venus in the final, 5–7, 6–4, [10–8] to win the doubles tennis title at the 2022 Generali Open Kitzbühel.
In 2021, singles title won by Norwegian star Casper Ruud. Casper played the final against Spanish star Pedro Martinez and defeat him in the final set (6-1, 4-6, 6-3). Casper was the 1st Norwegian who won this title in the open era.In doubles championship, Austrian pair Alexander Erler and Lucas Miedler won doubles championship against Roman Jebavy of the Czech Republic and Matwe Middelkoop of the Netherlands.
