Wimbledon Championship 2023 Results
Spanish star Carlos Alcaraz defeated 7 time Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic. Alcaraz also finished Djokovic’s 34 wimbledon matches winning streak. In final, Carlos defeated Novak in 5 sets 1-6, 7-6, 6-1, 3-6, 6-4. Carlos Alcaraz won his first Wimbledon singles title and left Novak Djokovic, the overwhelming favorite, with his first finals loss at the All England Club in a decade.
In the Men’s doubles championship, Bristish Neal Skupski and Dutch partner Wesley Koolhof defeated Horacio Zeballos and Marcel Granollers with 6-4, 6-4 in the men’s doubles. Britain’s Neal Skupski breaks 97-year record by winning Wimbledon doubles title.
In the Mixed doubles, Ukraine’s Lyudmyla Kichenok and Croatian Mate Pavic win Wimbledon 2023. Lyudmyla claimed her first Grand Slam title at Wimbledon, pairing with six-time major champion Mate Pavic to defeat Xu Yifan and Joran Vliegen for the mixed doubles crown.

Wimbledon Championships History and Winners
The first Wimbledon was held in 1877 at St. George’s Church, Portman Square, London. At the time, tennis was a fairly new sport. In 1877, the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club were established in Wimbledon. The first Wimbledon was a grass-court tennis tournament, with the men competing in over 50 singles and 25 doubles matches.
The women’s competition had 32 singles and 16 doubles matches. The Championships, Wimbledon commonly known simply as Wimbledon or The Championships, is the oldest tennis tournament in the world and is widely regarded as the most prestigious. Wimbledon Open 2023 Prize Money
The total prize money of Wimbledon 2023 is a record 44.7 million pounds ($57.29 million)., with the Ladies and Gentlemen’s Singles Champions each receiving £2,500,000. The doubles champion will have £600,000 and Mixed champions will get £128,000.
In 2022, the singles champion received £2,000,000 and the runner-up of singles had £1,050,000. contrary to this in doubles, the winning pair got £540,000 and the runner-up received £270,000. While in mixed doubles, winners got a cheque of £124,000 and runner-ups put £62,000 in their pockets.
