Serbia Open 2022 is an ATP 250 tournament in tennis led by Novak Djokovic world number 1 tennis player. This event was founded in 2009 in Belgrade, the city of Serbia. Event held at outdoor clay court surface of Novak Tennis Center, Belgrade.

The tournament started on 18 April and final was played on 24 April 2022. This was the 6th edition of the Serbian Open, from 2013 to 2020 events weren’t held. On a lighter note, it was the 2nd edition for WTA. This year again Telekom Srbija company was a proud sponsor of the Serbia Open 2022 tennis.

This tournament is owned by Serbian player Novak Djokovic and run by his family for the cause of promoting tennis for both genders. The main draw included 28 players of which 3 were wildcard entries and four will be qualifiers, while the doubles draw was consist of 16 doubles.

This year’s tournament had agenda to promote a clean environment, as one tree planted across Serbia for each ticket sold.

Serbia Open 2022 ATP 250 Tennis Tournament

In 2022, Serbia Open singles title won by seeded no 2 Andrey Rublev from Russia. Russian played a final against home star Novak Djokovic. Earlier this year star also won Dubai tennis championship and Open 13 championship (both single and doubles) in febraury. This was 8th ATP 250 title for Rublev and 2nd ATP 250 single title in 2022 (Open 13 Marseille, France and Serbia Open). Rublev have won total 11 ATP title in his whole career. Two time Serbia Open champion, Novak lost final in third set (2-6, 7-6, 0-6) and still looking for any title in 2022. On other side in doubles championship, Gonzalo Esobar from Colambia and Ariel Behar from Argentina won title against Croatian pair Nikola Mektic and Mate Pavic. Winners were also finalist of 2021 Serbia Open. Wining pair won any ATP title after April 2021 Andalucia Open together.

In 2021, Singles champion was Matteo Berrettini from Italy and runner-up was Aslan Karatsev from Russia. Italian star won by 6-1, 3-6, 7-6.  In doubles, Croatian pair Ivan Sabanov and Matej Sabanov was the singles champion.

Champions now play sports for Serbia since 2021. Twins champion won against Ariel Behar of Uruguay and Gonzalo Escobar of Ecuador.

Serbia Open 2022 Prize Money

In 2022, the total prize money will be €534,555 where the winner of singles gets €81,310 and runner-up had €47,430 while in doubles winner received €28,250 and doubles champion received €15,110.

However, in 2021 prize money was €650,000. The winner of the 2021 singles had a cheque of €100,225 and the runner-up had €58,885. On the other side, in the doubles championship winner put €34,510 in their pocket and the runner-up received €18,590.
