The Open Sud de France is an annual outdoor hard court tennis tournament part of the ATP Tour. Belonging to the ATP 250 category, the tournament is set in the bustling city of Montpellier, France. Its venue is the Montpellier Arena and this year will mark the 37th edition of the event and the 14th edition since the tournament moved to Montpellier. Originally, the event was held in Lyon but since 2010 the tournament has been played in Montpellier.

Open Sud de France 2024 Results
In the singles final, Alexander Bublik defeated Borna Coric in three sets 5-7, 6-2, 6-3. Alexander Bublik becomes the first man to win an ATP title after losing the 1st set in every match played from the start of the tournament.
While in the doubles, Local pair Fabien Reboul and Sadio Doumbia defeated Sam Weissborn and Albano Olivetti in the final 6-7, 6-4, 10-6.

Open Sud de France 2023 Results
Jannik Sinner of Italy gained his seventh singles title and first of the season by beating American Maxime Cressy 7-6(3), 6-3 within the Open Sud de France last on Sunday. The second-seeded Italian turned the primary male participant to win a tour-level with out dropping a set this year.
While in the doubles title, Robin Haase and Matwe Middelkoop captured their first title of the season on Sunday when they lifted the trophy at the Open Sud de France.
Open Sud de France History and Previous Winners
History
The Open Sud de France first held its inaugural edition in 1987. Back then, the tournament was named the Grand Prix de Tennis de Lyon and it was venued in Lyon as part of the ATP World Series of events. Then 1998 onwards, the tournament category changed to become one of the International Series of tournaments. Finally in 2009, during the last edition of the Grand Prix de Tennis de Lyon, it gained its current category as an ATP 250 event.
The following year, the tournament switched locations to Montpellier and it has been a city highlight ever since. Soon after this relocation, its position on the season timeline also saw changes. After no event was held in 2011, the tournament returned the following year with a new start of the season slot. Today, the this event is one of 4 ATP 250 series tournaments held in France and one of the first in the country.
Open Sud de France Winners
Throughout the 36 years the tournament was part of the tour, 35 editions were held with some big names in tennis both winning and competing at the tournament. This includes some tennis legends that many consider being some of the best players of all time like John McEnroe and Pete Sampras, the latter of which won the title 3 consecutive times and for many years held the record for most titles at the event. That was until Richard Gasquet, former no. 7, won the event for the 4th time back in 2016. Other Lyon winners that were top 10 players are former no. 1 Yevgeny Kafelnikov, former no. 2 Alex Corretja, and former no. 3 Ivan Ljubicic. In more recent years, Gael Monfils has won 2 titles, Alexander Zverev won in 2017 and was last year’s runner-up, and Lucas Pouille, former no. 10, who won the title in 2018,
